Our Projects

We don’t stop at giving children who have lost hope a new home and a family. We provide food, clothing, medical care and education. We also restore dignity to women within our community through skills empowerment so their families too can thrive.

Education

On any given school day, over 1 billion children around the world head to class. The children in our community are not included in this number.

Through our school in the community, we provide quality learning to vulnerable children. The school follows the national curriculum and provides education for children at the primary level of learning.

With time, we hope to expand our village with secondary and technical institutes for children who are too old to join primary level yet they are in dire need.

Agriculture

Our vision for buying land for our community was so that we could practice farming as an organisation as a means to become self-sustainable. We produce maize, matooke (bananas), cassava and irish potatoes.

Our agricultural projects allow us to grow food that helps sustain the people we serve in our Friends for Life villages. As part of our sustainability plan, women in the community are hired to plant and maintain our farms.

Women Empowerment

The harsh reality is that many women in our community have been left to bear the burden of poverty and raising generations- alone. As a result, their families suffer and remain trapped in the cycle of poverty.

We’re changing this by providing business capital and job opportunities to vulnerable women in our community. With financial resources, they can start small profitable businesses like charcoal vending, farming, grocery shops and alike.

Talent Center

Our Talent Center provides a chance to take a child’s natural love of sports or arts, and teaches them to play at their best with support and guidance from coaches and mentors.

Currently, we work together with the local church that involves children in learning musical instruments and choir music. Above all, we’ve seen our center grow into a formidable resource that gives a chance to children to grow in skill and character.
